Pennie Vatcher
Preschool Director

Mrs. Pennie- I have been blessed with the opportunity of working at South Bay Community Preschool for the past 18 years. I began my Child Development Career in 1991. In 1995, after 3 years of teaching, I became actively involved in children’s ministry through my church and ultimately became the Director of our center.

I have completed my Degree in Child Development and Administration. My passion is to continue to make South Bay Community Preschool the best quality program that Chula Vista has to offer. As the Preschool Director for the past 14 years, I have been able to develop a well rounded academic curriculum program, which focuses on the love of Jesus.

The Lord has blessed me with the gift of salvation, a godly husband, 9 wonderful children, and the best job in the world. I am a devoted Christian woman that has dedicated my life to Christ. It is my joy to serve the community of Chula Vista. I am especially blessed that I am able to pursue the Lord’s calling of instructing our little ones, in Jesus, and work with such a wonderful group of teaching staff.

Ana De Leon
Assistant Director & Teacher

Ms. Ana- I first walked into South Bay Community in my senior year of High School. I would come in daily for two hours of college credit. Upon graduating High School in 1991, I was brought on the teaching staff while I continued my college education in Early Child Development. Eighteen years later, I am still blessed with the opportunity to work at South Bay Community Preschool.

I have always enjoyed how young children learn and express themselves. They can be quite comical and entertaining. I have three wonderful different children of my own. I have been blessed with beautiful memories of working with the infant/toddlers, 3 years olds, and 4 year olds. I have a deep love and passion for children and I am blessed that the Lord has brought me to South Bay Community Preschool.

Araceli Gonzales
Teacher

Ms. Araceli- Upon completing my degree in Early Childhood Education, I started teaching at South Bay Community Preschool. Working the past 5 years at SBCP has been the best experience in my life. It is such a blessing to work in a Christian environment where the children are taught to love Jesus above all.

I joined the staff of South Bay Community Preschool in the fall of 2004. During this time, I have worked with the 2 year old classes. I love the way their little minds absorb all the new things they are learning.

Children are a blessing and I could not have asked for a better environment of Christian believers to work in. The staff and children at South Bay Community Preschool, are like a family and I am proud to be a part of what the Lord is doing through our preschool center.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 20:14

Juanita Serrano
Teacher

Mrs. Juanita- I have been working at South Bay Community Preschool for the past 25 years. I received my degree in Early Childhood education at Southwestern College. It is there that I learned that the first five years of a child’s life is the most important.

I am so thankful and blessed for working in such a wonderful place. Through His guidance, the Lord led me here, and I know He is the reason I have been teaching at SBCP for so many years. “For you are my rock and my fortress; therefore for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me.” Psalms 31: 3

Throughout the years, I have worked and taught children according to their needs. I have enjoyed nurturing and caring for our infant and toddlers as well as educating our preschoolers.

I am so blessed to be working at a Preschool that teaches the children about God’s love. It has been a joy for me to serve the Lord at South Bay Community Preschool for all these years.

Yezenia Gonzelez
Teacher

Mrs. Yezenia- I have been working at South Bay Community Preschool for the past 10 years and it has been a great blessing and honor working with the children of Chula Vista. I have always loved children and I am so excited that the Lord has allowed me to become a preschool teacher.

I believe that every day we are given countless opportunities to demonstrate the righteousness of Christ, and here at SBCP, God has given me the opportunity to show his righteousness by teaching children about His wonderful love. It continues to be my honor teaching children the importance of God’s Word and one of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 22:6 “Teach your children to choose the right path, and when he/she is old, they will not part from it.”

I am extremely thankful for having the chance to work in a preschool that is full of Love, Faith, and dedication to Jesus.

Angie Boyer
Teacher

Mrs. Angie- I have been serving families in my community as a Preschool Teacher at South Bay Community Preschool for 13 years. It has been my pleasure to teach the 5 year old/pre-kindergarten class. Jesus has blessed me with the opportunity to help guide young children in their most critical years of their development. I enjoy providing the children with an array of necessary skills from problem solving, cognitive development, and socialization.

The word of the Lord plays and important part of my life, as well as the children’s lives at South Bay Community Preschool. It is important that I am an example of Christ to each and every child in my classroom. My goal is to teach the children to love the Lord with all their heart.
